Most of the historical buildings are located in the beautiful old town, around the Plaza Major or Main Square. These include and worth a visit are The Concatedral de Santa Maria (co-cathedral of Saint Mary), built in a Gothic-style in the 13th century and reconstructed one century later after destruction by fire. The present building is another reconstruction after the demolition ordered by the council during the Spanish civil war in 1936.
El Fadrí is a stand-alone bell tower, located in Plaza Mayor, right next to the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor. The tower consists of four sections – the clock, the house of the ringer, the chamber of the bells and the ecclesiastic prison.
For your Alicante train station transfer once you leave the train, proceed to the arrivals hall and immediately on your left you will see a restaurant called CAFESTORE. Shuttle was waiting at the airport on arrival, had to wait around 10 minutes for other passengers but then we were on our way, we were first drop off, no complaints. Shuttle was on time for return journey too. Drivers polite and buses immaculately clean. Overall, very good service and would definitely recommend.
